CrownsCrowns are used to restore teeth which have fractured or are so heavily filled that they are at risk of fracturing. They cover all surfaces of the tooth and therefore in addition to protecting teeth they can also improve aesthetics.
Conventional crowns have a metal substructure to give them strength; however this will sometimes give a dark line at the gum level, which in certain cases may be unsightly.
With the advancement of technology all porcelain crowns can now be made, these are as strong as conventional crowns and can be used in the majority of cases. However because they are made from only porcelain their aesthetics are far superior and dark margins are no longer seen.
This is a fantastic piece of technology which enables us to make crowns, veneers or large tooth coloured fillings from natural looking porcelain, in just one visit! No impressions are needed and because everything is carried out in one appointment temporary crowns are not required.

Porcelain Laminate Veneers
Porcelain veneers are used to improve the appearance of front teeth. They can re-shape or disguise damaged or discoloured teeth, close gaps between teeth or restore cracked and chipped teeth. A thin layer is shaved off the tooth or teeth and veneers are made which restore the teeth to produce the desired aesthetic outcome.
